Ronald Bohm is a senior litigation partner with Blackburn Lawyers (formerly SBMB Law) based out of Richmond Hill, Ontario. Born and raised in Toronto, he grew up in Willowdale before moving to Richmond Hill. Since joining the firm Ron Bohm has received many accolades for his commitment to the legal community. In addition to being a past president with the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) – Ron Bohm has been featured on TVO on a panel discussion regarding the ongoing Ontario auto insurance program. He was also voted one of the Three Best Rated medical malpractice lawyers in Richmond Hill, Ontario where he was recognized for his commitment to excellence. Ron Bohm is also dually certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a specialist in both civil litigation and health law (medical malpractice). In addition to providing scholastic papers and lectures on litigation issues for lawyers – Ron Bohm has also appeared before the various levels of court on a number of precedent setting cases.
Ron Bohm is also passionate about charities and volunteers on the Board of Directors for many local charitable organizations. Passionate about mental health – he served for many years on the Foundation Board of Blue Hills Academy. Ron Bohm also served on the Foundation Board of York General Hospital (now known as Mackenzie Health Richmond Hill) as well as the Board of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association. Prior to joining his current firm – he worked for large insurance companies. But then one day decided that kind of legal work wasn’t for him and wanted to pursue a more meaningful career where he could work with clients and provide access to justice.
Those who know Ron Bohm also know that he loves the outdoor life. He spends a great deal of time at his cottage on the Kawartha Lakes where his loved ones will usually find him building decks or playing with his tractor. He enjoys kayaking, puttering around on the pontoon boat and spending time with his family. He loves spending time at the cottage during the winter too where you’ll find him exploring local trails with his snowmobile. Ronald Bohm is also a renowned foodie amongst his circle of friends and even took a Chinese cooking course at George Brown College many years ago. His favourite thing to cook is BBQ food where he famously cooked a whole 16 lb strip loin which was nicknamed “the beast” and has now become a family and friend favourite. Ronald Bohm also loves playing piano and writing songs – which is something he descries as “food for the soul”.
